High Definition Surveillance

When it comes to high definition (HD) surveillance, CBE has you covered. HD Megapixel IP Cameras are suitable in really demanding situations where you need to be able to identify persons or objects in a scene.

CBE has found that this is an optimal solution in point-of-sales (POS) monitoring where it is necessary to clearly see every item a customer is purchasing, or situations where you need to be able to identify a face. Highly detailed images can be achieved by installing a network camera with lens with zoom capability to allow a closer view of the area of interest. Using a HD Megapixel IP Camera in such cases will provide even higher resolution images with more details than a non-megapixel network camera and provide a faster security reaction as well as reduce investigation time, allowing for a higher probability of prosecution and conviction.

More In Depth Look

“Megapixel” simply means covering a much wider area with greater image quality. One HD Megapixel network camera can cover more than four times the area of the standard CCTV camera with the same resolution. This means you can replace four standard CCTV cameras with a single Mega pixel network camera, or 10 CCTV cameras with one 3.1 HD Mega pixel network camera.

Another appealing benefit that HD Megapixel network cameras bring to the video surveillance market is its ability to move beyond the traditional PAL/NTSC resolution and frame rate limitations and experience high-resolution video with enhanced image detail. Even one HD Megapixel network camera offers a resolution that is at least three times better than that of the standard CCTV camera, and even now there are network cameras that offer as much as eight HD Megapixel resolution – and higher.

CBE has researched and found that the analog HD CCTV camera is a type of Megapixel camera and in fact all HD cameras are Megapixel but not all Megapixel cameras are HD. Each Megapixel camera, including HD has 1,000,000 or more pixels while the analog cameras are limited to only 400,000 pixels.
